Welcome to the Guild Assistance Dog Partners website. Our organization is also known as GAP Dogs. GAP Dogs is a non-profit organization that provides individually trained service dogs to persons with disabilities at no charge to them. However we do require that each person pay a one time $25.00 application processing fee. Once a person receives a service dog from our organization they are responsible for the cost of theirĀ dogs daily care. They are also responsible for any equipment their service dog may need such as leashes, collars, harnesses, etc..
All funding for GAP Dogs is provided by the generous donations we receive from individual and corporate sponsors. We also generate funding for our program by hosting an annual dinner and silent auction. We do not receive any support from the government, either state or federal.
If you find yourself in need of the assistance provided by one of our service dogs please contact us. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have and get you started with the application process.
The wait list to receive a service dog through GAP Dogs is currently about 3-5 years. Please keep in mind that our organization is completely run by volunteers. Many of our treasured volunteers also have full time jobs. It may take some time for them to respond to your request for information. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
Under the navigation bar on the left side you will find information about our program, service and therapy dog stories, pictures of our service and therapy dog graduating classes and tips for public behavior training. On the right side you will find links to the supporters that make our program such a great success.
If you would like to post stories about your own service or therapy dog please register as a user and begin sharing your own experiences. We are all working together to educate the general public about the benefits assistance dogs provide to persons with disabilities and I believe this is a great way to get started on the path to accomplishing this goal.
We are constantly adding new information to our website that we hope service dog users will find helpful and informative. If you are interested in receiving email updates and an invitation to our annual fundraiser please subscribe to our website.
